Developed by GameBanana, this game utility application is a mod for the popular music rhythm game Friday Night Funkin'. In this mod, players will step into the shoes of Boyfriend as they face off against the mythical and legendary character Sonic.Exe in an epic rap battle.
Similar to other FNF mods, Vs. Sonic.Exe introduces seven new songs that can be discovered by playing the complete story mode and the free-play mode. Fans of Sonic the Hedgehog will also find numerous references and nods to the Sonic video game universe.
What does the mod offer? Sonic.Exe is a fan-made Sonic game that was developed in 2012. In this game, an eldritch entity takes on the form of the famous blue hedgehog and unleashes a haunted game disc that kills off the main Sonic characters. Vs. Sonic.Exe brings these classic characters into the world of FNF, where the evil Sonic challenges Boyfriend to a song duel in a strange and gloomy atmosphere.
Despite its dark atmosphere, the mod retains the mechanics of the original Friday Night Funkin'. The goal is still to play all the notes of the songs according to their charts. By doing so, you will see the progress bar tilt towards you until you emerge victorious. To play the notes, simply press the arrow keys in sync with the arrow symbols above Boyfriend.
In addition to the story mode, you can also enjoy the free-play mode. The complete story mode consists of several acts, where you can discover seven new songs and face off against five Sonic.Exe characters, including Sonic.Exe himself. The mod also includes various Easter eggs in the Sound Test menu, which can be unlocked by beating the Story Mode on Hard and using codes.
